After the initial edition of 300 copies sold out quickly, Venice Alive has been reprinted in another 300 copies with the same care and passion.

Every morning in Venice, a resident wakes up and starts running.
Whether he or she is participating in the fight against depopulation, organizing the Redeemer, or going about his or her normal workday, he or she knows that something unexpected will lengthen his or her time and alter his or her commute. It doesn’t matter whether you are a dog walker, an off-site student, or a volunteer at the village festival: the important thing is to run faster than others to accomplish your mission.

Venice Alive is a game conceived, created, and illustrated by Vanessa Milan, a Venetian by choice and by love. The characters are inspired by friends and acquaintances, while the situations and unexpected events reflect everything that can happen to those who know and love Venice and experience it every day. Players move freely on foot, take a vaporetto, or the historic gondola ferry that crosses the Grand Canal. They meet and get lost in the narrow streets, and can get trapped if high water comes and they don’t have a nice pair of rubber boots!

The pieces of Venice Alive are mosaics made by the Orsoni furnace, one of the oldest in Venice. The small bags containing the tiles are made from fabrics of the prestigious Luigi Bevilacqua weaving and are hand-sewn.

Recommended for ages 12 and up.
