Aquagranda

On the night of 12 November 2019 the tide rose to187 cm and the city was submerged with water. A disaster, which recalled ‘the Acqua Granda’ Venice’s worst flooding of 1966 and the delicate balance between the water, the city and the community that lives there. On that night the sirens didn’t stop ringing and nor did mobile phones. A collective memory offered to the public thanks to the Aquagranda 2019 project, created by Ca’ Foscari together with Science Gallery, Venice and in collaboration with the partner institutions of the Venetian Research and Innovation District (DVRI), sponsored by Confartigianato.
