Camillo Valle
Ospite In Laguna #2
19 aprile – 24 maggio 2025
Atelier Vanessa Milan, Venezia
The second guest is Camillo Valle (born in 1981). He lives between Venice and Milan, with a strong love for the Venetian city and its history, he has made documentaries, short films and video clips in the last twenty years, very close to experimental cinema and poetry. Moving images are his daily work, between television and art, and show landscapes near and far, use words in dialect or borrowed from foreign languages, and are accompanied by local and international music and sounds. The videos selected from his extensive production intertwine with Milan’s engravings, creating a mythical, passionate and contradictory Venice.

Born in Latisana (UD) in 1981, graduated from Dams in Bologna, he is interested in art, poetry, philosophy and cinema. He currently makes TV commercials, promos and trailers (he has worked as a copywriter/editor/producer for the last 16 years). He also makes documentaries, short films and video clips closer to experimental cinema and poetry than to more traditional narrative cinema. His works have been screened in art exhibitions and national and international film festivals.
With “Nati col Salso sui Ossi” he won the “Venice, a city” award at the 21st edition of the Pasinetti Award (2024), in 2021 ”I canti del pescatore d’acqua” won the award: ”Tutta la Città insieme!” presented during the 78th Venice Film Festival, with ”Autonauti: from Liguria to Venice” he won the LEOFANTI FILM FESTIVAL 2019, with ”EXPO 2.0” he won the third Visioni Ambientali award at the Cineteca di Bologna, with the ”the Art of Super-8: the Analogic Revolution”, which took him to the Cannes Film Festival (2013), he was awarded as ”best documentary film” at the ”12th International Super 8mm Festival of Szeged” in Hungary, as ”best documentary” at the Visionaria festival 2013 in Siena, as best documentary at the ”Euro FILM FESTIVAL” in Spain and received an Honorary Diploma at Nofi 2013 in Los Angeles.
In 2012 he founded a publishing inn ”Osteria del Tempo Ritrovato Editore” with which he publishes small books of experimental and conceptual poetry. With ”Lettere incompiute” he won a Prize with mention – Unpublished Poetry – at the 27th edition of the Lorenzo Montano Poetry and Prose Prize”.
